Is Summer Near

"Now learn from the parable of the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door". (Matthew 24: 32, 33)
No one but God knows exactly when Jesus will come back for His Church at the harpazo or rapture, followed by His return to earth some seven years later to establish His promised Kingdom on earth; But of that day and hour no one knows, not the angles of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. (Matthew 24:36) No one knows the future, but, as Christians, we are blessed to know the One who, not only knows the future, but establishes it; Remember the former things long past, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things which have not been done. saying, "My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure. (Isaiah 46:9, 10)
That said, we are to recognize the season and signs foretelling the second coming of Jesus Christ. Soon after the rapture of the Church when all true believers will be caught up to meet Jesus in the air, there will be an unprecedented seven year tribulation period on the earth; Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. (Matthew 24:22)
Beginning in Revelation chapter 6 and following, God reveals many details about this tribulation period and the second coming of Jesus Christ, known as "the day of the Lord". In my next few commentaries, I plan to discuss some of what the Bible reveals about the rapture, the tribulation period and why we believe that summer is indeed near!
