Words of Wisdom

He who gives attention to the word will find good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord. (Proverbs 16:20)
Are you confused about something, looking for answers, need help making an important decision, not understanding, lacking wise council? But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. (James 1:5)
When faced with important life issues and decisions or even seemingly insignificant ones, God has the wisdom you need and wants to instruct you. I say "seemingly insignificant", because sometimes seemingly insignificant decisions have significant consequences. One's life can be traced and measured as a series of wise and foolish choices and their subsequent consequences. We probably can't do much about our past foolish choices, but we can seek and find God's generous wisdom in making all future choices.
Solomon expresses God's frustration with our foolishness and stubborn refusal to seek and then listen to His wisdom; How long O naive ones, will you love being simple-minded? And scoffers delight themselves in scoffing and fools hate knowledge? Turn to my reproof, behold, I will pour out
My spirit on you; I will make my words known to you. (Proverbs 1:22, 23)
Of course, in addition to the great privilege of asking Him in prayer, we can find God's wisdom in His perfect word; Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105) Is it any wonder that the enemy wants to keep us away from the wisdom and eternal truths of the Bible? The sum of Your word is truth, and everyone of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting. (Proverbs 119:160) Your testimonies also are my delight; they are my counselors. (Proverbs 119:24)
Make me know your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your path. (Psalm 25:4) Maranatha!
