Weary of Worship

I am the Lord, your Holy One, The Creator of Israel, your King.
(Isaiah 43:15)
Most people don't believe in the God of the bible and, therefore, don't have any reason to worship Him. As Christians we are blessed to have a close family relationship with God. But we must also remember that He is God and we are not. As those who have been redeemed from the slavery of sin, we are now slaves of Christ Jesus. Accordingly, as Israel was commanded, we also are to always worship Him as our Lord, our Holy One, our Creator and our King.
To worship God is to ascribe ultimate worth to Him and we worship Him when we trust and obey Him. Sadly, like Israel, Christians sometimes just get tired or weary of worshiping Him; Yet you have not called on Me, O Jacob; But you have become weary of Me, O Israel. (Isaiah 43:22) Thankfully, God is always faithful to His promises even when we are not and will never cease loving Israel, nor His Christian children. But our sinful failure to worship Him with our full trust and obedience "wearies" Him; Rather you have burdened Me with your sins, you have wearied Me with your iniquities. (Isaiah 43:24) God's pleasure in us, as well as, our happiness in Him requires our untiring worship of trust and obedience.
When we walk with the Lord In the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way;
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Trust and obey, For there's no other way.
To be happy in Jesus, But to trust and obey.
(Trust and Obey by John H. Sammis 1887)
