The Light of the Gospel

By George Stroh

April 11, 2022

And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Corinthians 3, 4)

There is a very real and ongoing spiritual war. The combatants are God, His angelic forces, and born again believers Vs. Satan, his demonic forces, and unbelieving followers. Satan's primary war strategy is to, by any means, keep people in the dark and from hearing and believing the saving gospel truth about the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ; So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. (Romans 10:17)

There is no neutral Sweden in this war. Everyone is either on the side of God or on the side of Satan, the enemy of God. Most people, of course, don't even recognize the existence of God or Satan, let alone the reality of spiritual warfare because; the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

The gospel of Christ brings spiritual light to darken hearts and minds. Jesus said, "While I am in the world, I am the light of the world." (John 9:5) The Apostle Paul wrote; For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:6)

Like Paul, all born again believers are also to be actively engaged in this spiritual war by exposing the darkness of Satan's lies and bringing the light of the gospel truth of the word of God to those with yet darken hearts and minds; You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. (Matthew 5:14)

"This little light of mine.... I'm gonna let it shine. Let it shine... Let it Shine... Let it shine!"
