We are Rich!

The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. (Romans 8:16, 17)
Again this year I failed to make the Forbes 400 Richest People List even though I'm an heir of the One who owns everything. If like me you are a Christian, God is your Father and because of our family relationship with Him, we are heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ. Therefore we are exceedingly rich in every way!
Those who have not believed the gospel and have not yet come to trust Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord have a very distorted view of God, Christians and even themselves. They don't understand or appreciate the holiness, righteousness and glory of God or of His children. Nor do they understand or see their own sinful, unrighteous and lost condition; The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. (Proverbs 9:10).
Unfortunately, many Christians also misunderstand and under appreciate the glorious relationship and position they have as children of God. The unbelieving world does not, of course, know God or recognize His children. But for us to live lives that please our heavenly Father, it is important that we really understand who we are in Christ and the glory we have been given in Him; And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)
If you are a Christian, you can expect to share in the sufferings of Christ in this life on earth. But stay faithful and encouraged because someday you will also be glorified with Him and recognized as a beloved child of God! Even if you can't afford to buy a Forbes magazine, let alone be on their list of the 400 richest people, you are today truly one of the richest and most blessed people on earth. Maranatha!
