An Open Letter to My Family and Friends

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)
The Bible promises that someday Jesus Christ will return to earth; "This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven." (Acts 1:11) It will begin with what is commonly known as the "rapture" of the Church when all true believers from the beginning of the Church in Acts chapter 2 will be bodily resurrected; Then we (Christians who have not yet died) who are alive and remain will be caught up (the rapture) together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
Following the rapture of the Church, there will be a seven year period of unimaginable tribulation on the earth as God pours out His judgment culminating with "Armageddon" and Christ's victorious return to earth. Most of the world's population will perish during those seven years. Jesus said, "Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short." (Matthew 24:22)
Which brings me to the purpose of this letter. If someday I and millions of others suddenly disappear and you are "left behind", I hope and pray that you will remember this letter and that you will go to the website TheGatheringStorm.org . There you can read what the Bible says about the rapture of the Church, the tribulation period, the second coming of Jesus Christ, and most importantly, how you can be saved from His coming judgment and eternal hell. Better yet... go to the website now or read about it in your Bible before the rapture of the Church.
No one knows when the rapture will happen. It may not happen in my (or your) lifetime. But for certain someday the Lord Jesus Christ will return and we will each stand before Him in judgment, some of us on our way to an eternal heaven, but most on their way to an eternal hell. May our gracious and loving God grant you the faith to hear His gospel (the good news) and come to know Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord.
And if you already know Him as your Savior and Lord, I encourage you to forward this letter to your family, friends, classmates, co-workers and anyone else who needs to hear the gospel before it is too late; ...Do the work of an evangelist! (2 Timothy 2:4) Maranatha!
