God's Judgment Vs. Man's

The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil. (Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14)
A couple of years ago I wrote a commentary entitled "Is Homosexuality a Sin?" In light of this week's tragic and sad supreme court decision declaring same sex marriage lawful in America, we need to remember that God's laws always trump man's laws.
In an unbelieving world that is biblically illiterate and increasing hostile to the the truth of God's word it is not surprising that the homosexual lifestyle is becoming acceptable. Unbelievers naturally reject the judgments of God when His word conflicts with their personal beliefs. But even if everyone in the world agreed that homosexuality was acceptable, popular opinion would not change the fact that God says it is sin; May it never be! Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar, as it is written:"That You may be justified in Your words, and prevail when You are judged." (Romans 3:4)
What is surprising and disturbing is that many so called Christians have rejected the truth of God's word that clearly says homosexuality is a sin. There are even an increasing number of churches that not only accept homosexuality, but even promote what is an abomination to God; Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?Do not be deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the Kingdom of God. ( Corinthians 6:9, 10)
Christians must also understand that the sin of homosexuality is no worse than any other sin and that God hates and will judge every sin. Paul goes on in his letter to the Corinthians to explain that the sin of homosexuality, like every other sin, can be forgiven by God; Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
(1 Corinthians 6:11)
Nevertheless, we need to also understand that neither evolving popular opinion nor the persuasive lies and distortions of false teachers changes God's truth. Homosexuality is sin and no one who practices sin will inherit the Kingdom of God. Christians need to push back against those who deny God's word, calling what is evil good, and what is good evil; Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. (Isaiah 5:20)
Both the Old and New Testament warn us that homosexuality is sinful. In Leviticus 18:22 God said, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination." And we read about the homosexual sins of Sodom and His judgment in Genesis chapter 19; But on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. (Luke 17:29)
In Romans chapter 1:26 we read; For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the women and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. In 1 Timothy 1:10, the sin of homosexuality is listed among other ungodly, unholy and profane acts of sinners.
These and other Scriptures make it clear that homosexuality is sin, and will never be acceptable to God, nor those who love Him and want to keep His commandments. But praise God! Homosexuality, like every other sin can be repented by the sinner, forsaken and forgiven by faith in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Maranatha!
