The Pre-Tribulation Rapture

And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come. (1 Thessalonians 1:10)
We believe and teach what is called the "pre-tribulation rapture". This means that the rapture of the Church will proceed the seven year tribulation period and the coming wrath of God described in Revelation chapters 6 through 19. As Jesus Himself said, "For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will." (Matthew 24:21)
Because the Church (born again Christian believers) will already be home with the Lord in heaven, we have no fear of the coming horrendous tribulation period on earth. We do, however, expect increasing hostilities and persecutions of Christians prior to the rapture of the Church; Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory (the rapture) you rejoice with exultation. If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. (1Peter 4:12-14)
No, we Christians won't have to go through the coming tribulation period. But It is still our great privilege and special blessing as Christians to suffer for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, we are to live fearless lives, always trusting and obeying the Lord and looking forward to His imminent return at the rapture; Therefore, those who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right. (1 Peter 4:19)
