God has the Answers By George Stroh July 25, 2011
"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him." (James 1:5)
All of us at one time or another need answers and wisdom as to what we should do next. Sometimes God uses others, wise men and women, who give us good biblical advise and counsel; "The words of wise men are like goads, and masters of these collections are like well-driven nails; they are given by one Shepherd." (Ecclesiastes 12:11) Of course there are over a million books published each year and many of these authors also claim to have truth, wisdom, and the answers to life's many questions; "But beyond this, my son, be warned; the writing of many books is endless, and excessive devotion to books is wearying to the body." (Ecclesiastes 12:12)
While people may be well intentioned, unless their wisdom is biblically based, their advise and counsel is suspect at best. Only God, who is the source of all truth and wisdom, can be trusted to give us godly wisdom and the right answers to our questions. His word is truth; "How sweet are your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth! From Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path." (Psalm 119:103-105)
When we can't find the specific answers or wisdom we seek in His word, those of us who belong to Him (Christians), not only have God's wisdom in His word, but have the privilege to ask Him who loves us for more wisdom anytime we have questions. And God promises to give us more wisdom, "generously and without reproach". When we come to Him in prayer we can expect that He will hear us and will abundantly bless us with all the wisdom we need. Furthermore, He will never rebuke, criticize or even embarrass His children who come to Him looking for wisdom and answers. On the contrary, our heavenly Father, who loves us, wants His children to come to Him often and about everything.
Do you need answers today? Do you need more wisdom? Go to God's word and just ask your heavenly Father. He loves you and promises to answer your prayers for wisdom, generously and without reproach, Maranatha!
