Our Spiritual Battle

Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8)
As born again Christian believers, we can expect to be engaged in many spiritual battles. Our enemy is Satan and his demonic forces; The godless worldly philosophy and culture manipulated by Satan, the god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4); And our own sinful and corrupted flesh; For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not. (Romans 7:18)
Unless you are someone very important, you have probably not encountered Satan himself. Unlike God, he is not omnipresent, omniscient or omnipotent. He is, however, well organized and uses fallen angels (demons), unregenerate and unbelieving humans, and sadly, sometimes even weak and naive Christians, to carry out his evil; Help, Lord, for the godly man ceases to be, for the faithful disappear from among the sons of man. They speak falsehood to one another. With flattering lips and with a double heart they speak. (Psalm 12:1,2) It is a disgraceful example and witness when Christians, or so called Christians, are used by Satan to malign other Christians; The wicked strut about on every side when vileness is exalted among the sons of men. (Psalm 12:8)
Fortunately, while we are in the world, we are not of the world. Satan's power is limited and controlled by our sovereign God; You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you (Holy Spirit) than he (Satan) who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)
As Christians, we will, of course, ultimately prevail in all of our spiritual battles; God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1) So Christian, put on your spiritual armor (read Ephesians 6:10-18) and; Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold! (Psalm 46:10, 11)
Maranatha!
