Babylon Will Be Destroyed

For The Lord is going to destroy Babylon, and He will make her loud noise vanish from her. (Jeremiah 51:55)
There is a coming new world order that the Bible calls Babylon, an archetype of the ancient Babylonian empire that once ruled the world. Like ancient Babylon, this new Babylon will dominate and control all political, commercial and religious systems worldwide. It will be established during the seven year tribulation period which will happen after the rapture of the Church and will be ruled by a man the Bible calls the Antichrist. It doesn't take much imagination to see that this Babylonian new world order could soon develop, which is the reason why we believe the rapture could also soon happen; Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy (the departure or rapture) comes first, and the man of lawlessness (the Antichrist) is revealed, the son of destruction. (1 Thessalonians 2:3)
Some have speculated that this new Babylon may be a reference to the United States of America. The USA obviously does make a loud noise and has great influence around the world. While I don't personally hold to this view, there are similarities between the ancient Babylonian empire and the USA today; For the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality. (Revelation 18:3)
Sin has always, of course, been universally pervasive in every generation. But there has been an accelerated deterioration in our national culture and morality in recent generations with the open rejection of biblical truth and the tolerance and acceptance of every kind of sinful depravity; And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful. (Romans 1:28-31)
We don't know how or where the USA will fit into the coming new Babylonian empire, but this nation is certainly not exempt from God's coming judgment; For this reason in one day her plagues will come, pestilence and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for the Lord God who judges is strong. (Revelation 18:8)
