I'm Praying... What Else Should I do?

In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God for help; He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry for help before Him came into His ears. (Psalm 18:6)
As children of God, when we are in any distress, we have the privilege of calling upon the Lord and crying out to Him for help. Now what else should we do after we have prayed?
First, since we know that our heavenly Father hears our prayers, as humble children, trust and obey Him, knowing that He not only hears us, but is in total control and will answer according to His perfect will; Trust in the Lord and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. (Psalm 37:3)
Secondly, continue to seek His revealed will, which will always be according to His word, the Bible, and commit to following and submitting to Him wherever He may lead. This means accepting his answers to our prayers and trusting in His faithfulness and love for us, regardless of the ongoing distress. In so doing, He will bring our heart desires into conformity with His revealed will; Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He will do it. (Psalm37:4,5)
Finally; Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. (Psalm 37:7) Maybe the hardest thing for us to do is to continue to manifest Christian love, joy, peace and patience in our distress. This is a supernatural patience that is bestowed only upon born again Christians; But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy peace, patience... (Galatians 5:22) Our patience in times of distress demonstrates our faithfulness in God, produces endurance and spiritual maturity; Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance, and let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. (James 1:2-4)
When in distress pray, remembering that you are a beloved child of God. The God who always hears your prayers and always answers according to His perfect will, an answer that will also always perfect for you as well.
Maranatha!
