The Word of God

Like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation. (1 Peter 2:2)
Without receiving the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ as revealed in the word of God, no one has forgiveness of sins, salvation from God's wrath, and the gift of eternal life which comes by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone; So faith comes from hearing, and hearing from the Word of Christ. (Romans 10:17)
And without the word of God, there can be no spiritual grow or christian maturity. If a newborn child is deprived of needed healthy nourishment, the child's growth will be stunted. If a reborn christian is deprived of the needed nourishment of God's word, spiritual grow will be stunted. Is it any wonder that Satan, the enemy of our souls, does whatever he can to keep us away from the pure milk of the word?
Feast upon the word of God daily and grow spiritually in His knowledge, truth and wisdom; The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. (Psalm 19:7-8)
