For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness. (Romans 1:18)
Today, the USA is still the most powerful economic and military nation in the world. However, we may soon lose that super power status to China or other nations. The USA, once the largest creditor nation, is now the world's largest debtor nation, with a national debt of over 28 trillion and growing exponentially. It is estimated that China will soon have the world's largest economy. The USA still has the most powerful Air Force. But China already has the largest armed forces in the world (over 2 million active personnel), as well as, the largest navy with more than 350 ships and submarines. And Russia possesses the most extensive nuclear arsenal.
Our nation, which has been abundantly blessed with the far and wide proclamation of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, has been in spiritual and cultural decline for sometime now. Much like the decline and eventual collapse of the Roman empire, our so called sexual revolution of the sixties including all kinds of fornications and homosexual sins, has led to ungodliness, unrighteousness and depraved minds. If the Lord tarries, we expect that the USA will also suffer the same fate as the late great Roman empire.
The apostle Paul wrote to the Church at Rome; And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteous, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strive, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them. (Romans 1:28-32)
Sounds a lot like the USA today; For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries. (Hebrews 10:26, 27)
