The Truth

Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth... (Ephesians 6:14a)
The first piece of spiritual armor listed by the Apostle Paul is truth (Ephesians 6:10-17). This spiritual armor is vital if we as Christians are to stand firm and defend against the schemes of the devil. A Roman soldier who failed to put on his protective armor would be very vulnerable in battle. The analogy is, as Christian soldiers without our spiritual armor, we are also very vulnerable in our spiritual battles; For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)
The Roman governor, Pontius Pilate, questioned the Lord Jesus Christ; Therefore Pilate said to Him, "So you are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say correctly that I am a king. For this reason I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice." Pilate said to Him, "What is truth?" (John 18:37,38) Jesus, the very personification of truth, didn't answer Pilate because He knew that Pilate, as an unbeliever, was incapable of knowing or believing the truth of God;
The truth is God's truth and is not relative, nor is it is subservient to your personal truth or anyone else's truth. When Thomas asked Jesus where He was going and how they might follow after Him, Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth... (John 14:6a) We can only come to know and believe in Jesus Christ and know the truth by hearing and believing the word of God, the Bible; "Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth". (John 17:17)
Put on and keep on the spiritual armor of the truth and all of the spiritual armor provided by God so that you will prevail in every spiritual battle; You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He (God) who is in you than he (Satan) who is in the world. They (false teachers) are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world (unbelievers) listens to them. We believers) are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. (1 John 4:4-6)
Believer, know the truth of God, believe His truth, speak His truth, and walk in His truth!
Maranatha!
