The Day of the Lord

Wail, for the day of the Lord is near! It will come as destruction from the Almighty. (Isaiah 13:6)
The next prophetic event is what we know as the rapture of the Church, when all true believers will be "caught up" to be with the Lord; For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17)
That amazing event will mark the beginning of the day of the Lord which unfolds the seven year tribulation period on the earth when God will pour out His wrath on an unrepentant, godless world. It will be a beyond horrible time to be alive on earth; Therefore all hands will fall limp, and every man's heart will melt. They will be terrified, pains and anguish will take hold of them; They will writhe like a woman in labor. They will look at one another in astonishment, their faces aflame. Behold the day of the Lord is coming, cruel, with fury and burning anger, to make the land a desolation; And He will exterminate its sinners from it. (Isaiah 13:7-9)
Jesus said, "Unless those (tribulation) days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for sake of the elect those days will be cut short." (Matthew 24:22)
I am praying today for the salvation of all my family and friends who have not yet come to saving faith in Jesus Christ. And that if they don't trust Christ before the coming rapture of the Church, that they will be among those few elect saints who come to Him during the Tribulation period. Thankfully, their eternal fate and ours, is in the almighty hands of God.
Maranatha!
