Fear Not!
October 15, 2017
By George Stroh

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.
(John 14:27)

What are you afraid of? We will all encounter many trials and tribulations in life that can, if we let them, cause us to be fearful. The scary list of "What if this happens?" is endless. Unfortunately, many choose to live their lives in constant fear, worrying about just about everything that might go wrong. The reality, however, is that worrying doesn't help and besides, most of what we worry about never happens anyway.

The Bible, as well as, numerous medical studies, tell us that constant worrying and stress can actually contribute to many mental and physical ailments, while a joyful, positive attitude enhances health and healing; A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones. (Proverbs 17:22)

We Christians can have the peace of God regardless of our circumstances. Our future, both in this life and in the life to come, is secure in the hands of Him who loves us. He is our advocate, protector, provider and comforter in every circumstance; What shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? (Romans 8:31)

Is there anything that can separate us from God's love? As the Apostle Paul would say, "May it never be!" For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38, 39) Maranatha!
