Cancel Culture

He was despised and forsaken by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face. He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. (Isaiah 53:3)
The rise of the "cancel culture" and the number of those being "cancelled" in recent years is not new. As King Solomon wrote; Is there anything of which one might say, "See this, is it new?" Already it has existed for ages which were before us. (Ecclesiastes 1:9) A celebrity or other public figure does or says something that is offensive to a particular group and then come the calls to cancel the person --- that is, to malign their credibility, discredit their views, end their cultural relevance and use any means available to effectively silence them.
The Jewish leaders did everything they could to try to cancel Jesus Christ and eventually had Him executed (the ultimate cancellation). His claim that He alone was the Son of God and the exclusive intermediary between God and man was very offensive to the Jews; Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the Life; no comes to the Father but through Me." (John 14:6)
Even though Jesus was resurrected from the grave proving He was indeed the promised Jewish Messiah, the only Lord and Savior, people continue to try to cancel Him and His saving gospel. But He can never be cancelled; Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him. even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen. "I am the Alpha and the Omega, " says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty!" (Revelation 1:7, 8)
