Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4)
Each of us will have our share of various trials, afflictions and suffering in this life. But, as Christians, we will also enjoy the incomprehensible peace and comfort that only the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort can provide. Have you considered that your physical or emotional suffering may be a God given gift and opportunity for you to comfort someone else who is also suffering from the same or similar affliction?
The one who has patiently endured suffering, faithfully trusting in the perfect plan and goodness of God, is uniquely equipped and qualified to comfort other believers. None of us seek more trials, afflictions and suffering. But your faithfulness, endurance, and incomprehensible peace and comfort in the mist of trails, afflictions and suffering, may be used by God to comfort and encourage someone else; to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. (Ephesians 1:6)
