There has always an underling conflict between men and women which is sometimes called the "battle of the sexes". There is a "Radical Feminist Movement", which advocates the total elimination of any gender bias, regardless of physical, emotional or intellectual abilities, limitations or differences.
Men are by no means innocent victims in the gender conflict. Men too often use their superior positions, their physical and financial strength to sexually and otherwise sinfully abuse, intimidate and subjugate women.
We can trace this "battle of the sexes" back to our first ancestors, Adam and Eve, and to the consequences of their original sin. Prior to their fall into sin, Adam and Eve enjoyed a harmonious relationship in their God-ordained roles;.. and they shall become one flesh. (Genesis 3:24b) Adam did not sinfully rule over, subjugate, or in any way mistreat his wife Eve, and Eve did not desire to usurp her husband's God-ordained leadership and authority, but was content in her role as his companion and helpmate.
But sin and its consequences changed their harmonious relationship; To the woman He (God) said, "... Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you. The exact Hebrew words and grammar are used in Genesis 4:7 to describe the conflict man has with sin personified that seeks to rule over him; ...and its desire is for you. As a result of God's curse, Eve was no longer content in her God-given submissive role but rather desired to rule over Adam.
Men and women are spiritually equal before God; ...There is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28). But God, in accordance with His divine sovereignty, has ordained the proper biblical roles for men and women which is to be worked-out in the marriage relationship; Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, As Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself up for her. (Ephesians 5:22-25) Maranatha!
